IDAHO
HEAT RACING
Since 1995 Idaho Heat” has
been participating with Idaho's youth in
a safe and
supervised alternative to illegal street racing.
Our program has been
instrumental in encouraging area teens to become involved in
sanctioned high school competition at Firebird Raceway,
Boise, Idaho. The management of Firebird Raceway provides
the venue, safety inspections, on sight supervision,
trophies, and scholarship donations to the student
competitors' high schools.
This drag racing format
allows safe and legal competition between student racers, as
well as giving them an opportunity to test their skills
against area law enforcement and fire Department racing
teams. Perhaps the greatest benefit is that our area youth
can interact with these officers in a "non-enforcement"
setting as people who share their interests.
Idaho Heat is affiliated
with "Racers Against Street Racing". RASR is sponsored by
SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Manufactures Association,
which is a nationwide association of automotive after market
parts manufacturers.
Idaho Heat is also a
member of the national "Beat The Heat" program. BTH
provides representation for nearly 300 drag racing teams,
whose members are active or retired police and fire fighting
officers.
The Idaho Heat will
participate in the six scheduled "High School Nationals",
the "Club Challenge" series, and selected major events at
Firebird Raceway. In addition to the racing schedule, the
team will be participating in various car shows, parades,
and on high school campus events. |
